Sounds of Indian America / Plains and Southwest (Various Artists)
In response to requests for an introduction to Indian music, Sounds of Indian America was recorded live at the 48th Intertribal Indian Ceremonial at Gallup, New Mexico, in 1969. This album presents 14 tribal groups from the Pueblo, Navajo, Apache, Southern Plains, Northern Plains, Plateau, and California regions. A full color 12 page booklet presents extensive notes about Indian aesthetic values, the different styles of Indian music presented, and background information on each dance performed. Photographs taken at the time of the performance depict each of the 14 groups. An excellent introduction to traditional Indian music.

"Sounds of Indian America" est enregistré en concert à la 48ème Cérémonie Intertribale Indienne à Gallup, au Nouveau Mexique en 1969. Cet album présente 14 groupes tribaux d'origines diverses telles que Pueblo, Navajo, Apache, plaines du Sud, plaines du Nord, Plateau et régions de Californie. Un petit livre de 12 pages en couleurs présente des notes étendues sur les valeurs esthétes indiennes, les différents styles de musique indienne présentés et l'information de fond de chaque performance de danse. Les photographies prises au moment de la performance décrivent chacun des 14 groupes. Une excellente introduction à la musique traditionnelle indienne.
