Kevin Locke: Love songs of the Lakota / Northern Plains
Kevin Locke began studying Lakota flute many years ago. At an early age, he sought out tribal elders and learned not only many traditional Lakota love songs, but also the history which goes with each song. Traditionally, a love song can either be sung or played on flute. This album was recorded outdoors next to a stream in the Black Hills of South Dakota in 1982. It is Kevin's first published recording, and presents twelve traditional Lakota love songs performed on three different flutes. Kevin has written extensive notes about Lakota flute playing, his flutes, and the histories and translations of the Lakota lyrics of each song when sung.

Kevin a écrit des notes importantes à propos des flûtes du Lakota, ses flûtes et ses histoires ainsi que les traductions du Lakota lyrique pour chaque chanson lorsqu'il chante.
